Vocare call centre

The Vocare Group provides innovative, high quality healthcare services to patients and commissioners, delivered through effective partnerships. Vocare provides urgent care services to ten million patients across the UK through urgent care centres, GP out-of-hours services, integrated urgent care centres and the NHS 111 service.

Vocare call centre Vocare is a care service part of the NHS, and in April 2020 at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, their Newcastle office was being turned into a designated Covid-19 call centre. Vocare, in partnership with Lyreco, needed a furniture supplier who could supply suitable furniture on a quick turnaround, with an installation team that could build the furniture during the countrywide lockdown over the Easter weekend.

Lyreco reached out to Dams as their key supplier of office furniture. The brief was for 64 white desks to fit the open space together with desktop screens and returns which will not only give the added privacy required in an open plan office environment, but will also provide extra protection when working in close proximity to colleagues during the Coronavirus pandemic and give users the personal space needed in the modern call centre.

A staple for the modern office, the Maestro 25 desking range, with its minimal, modern styling was the perfect choice for Vocare to achieve the layout and corporate style they were looking to create. The welded double upright cantilever leg frame structure is powder coated for a stylish under frame and when combined with a 25mm melamine desktop ensures the strength and stability needed in any commercial or call centre environment.

Whether dividing desk space or an entire office area, office screens provide an element of privacy for call centre workers, allowing them to be comfortable while they work and allowing them to be more focused on their work by helping to cut out colleague’s distracting and irritating telephone or computer sounds. Dams fabric wrapped straight desktop screens are a cost effective way of dividing desk clusters and are supplied with brackets to fit all 25mm desktops with return screen options to suit any space.

Realising the importance of this order due to the nationwide crisis, Dams Transport department went above and beyond, working hand-in-hand with Lyreco and the project team to schedule delivery and installation aligned to their just-in-time requirements on Good Friday, whilst also providing real time updates on the progress of the order. 64 Maestro 25 cantilever leg desks, 32 fabric desktop screens and 80 fabric return screens were delivered and installed on the designated day, in a professional manner, with a hassle-free approach to completing on time.

Our installation team also returned all packaging to Dams for recycling once the installation was complete, helping to minimise the environmental expense of waste packaging and make the space ready for Vocare to move into their new Covid-19 call centre straight after the Easter weekend.
