Case Study - Glasgow Caledonian University

Glasgow Caledonian University

Glasgow Caledonian is a dynamic university and their student population has grown to over 20,000 in recent years. We have over 90 undergraduate, 40 postgraduate programmes and a large number of students engaged in research for PhDs in topics that put them at the forefront of their disciplines, students come from over 100 countries throughout the world, enriching the campus and making Glasgow Caledonian University a truly cosmopolitan environment in which to study.

Encore Hospitality Services chose to specify Gecko chairs and high stools from Dams Social Spaces product portfolio to add some colour to the university refectory. The stylish Gecko dining chairs and stools have a turtle-shell design which is designed for maximum comfort and durability due to the easy clean curvaceous shape. Gecko seating is available in a multitude of colour options to complement the white seat, and for a fun and easy match on the stools, the sled frames have been powder coated to match the shell colours to enhance the decorating style.

Tall poseur tables are a very popular choice thanks to their simple yet stylish design. The interior was completed with bespoke sofas with a sturdy sled frame and elongated coffee tables to create a simple but impactful look in a breakout space or reception, providing an area for students to congregate and relax.

Glasgow Caledonian is a vibrant, innovative and multi-award winning University for the common good, and Dams are proud to have been involved in providing furniture to an establishment whose aim is to contribute to society in a manner that embraces yet goes beyond the traditional role of a university.
